The Shipping Type window, which opens when you select the Add... or Edit... command in the Shipping type List section of Shopping Cart | Order Management, lets you define the shipping methods for the products in the shopping cart.

The Shipping Type window is organized in the following sections:

General
Cost
E-mail message
Management
Click to expand/collapseReference: Commands in the General section

You can use these commands to define a shipping method:

Name: give the method a concise and clear name, so that you can easily identify it.
Description: you can give a complete explanation for the method.
Image: select the image to associate with the current method in the shopping cart pages.
Available for some countries only: if active, this option allows you to activate the selected shipping method for specific countries only. You can define the country list on the window that opens by clicking on the icon.
Click to expand/collapseReference: Commands in the Cost section

You can use the commands in this section to indicate any surcharges for the current shipping method. These costs can be applied in one of the following ways:

Fixed Cost: you can specify a fixed shipping cost for the current method.
Cost of total Order amount: you can define a range of shipment costs, that depend on the total value of the order. The Add... and Edit... buttons open the Shipping Cost window, where you can define the Order's amount to be reached or greater than, to apply the specified shipping Price.
Cost related to Total Weight: you can define a range of shipment costs for the current shipment method, depending on the total weight of the products in the order. The Add... and Edit... buttons open the Shipping Cost window, where you can define the Total Weight to be reached or greater than to apply the specified shipping Cost.

For a correct calculation of shipping costs, make sure you specify the weight of each article in the shopping cart in the Product Settings | General window.

By working with the  Pro edition of WebSite X5, and regardless if you set a fixed or a variable price, you can report a price difference according to the Customer's purchase Country:

Additional cost for countries: if you activate this option, you can create a list of Countries you want to set a different shipping price for. By using the Add... and Edit... buttons, you can open the Shipping Cost window, which you can use to select the needed countries and to set the Cost difference. In this way, you can set a fixed £10 shipping cost for all countries except UK, for which you can set for instance £8 (Cost difference: -2), and China and Japan, for which you can set £13 (Cost difference: +5).

You can also use this option:

VAT (%): if selected, you can specify the VAT to apply to the shipping method. This option is available if you have set the Type as "VAT included" or "VAT excluded" as the VAT settings in Shopping Cart | Options.
Click to expand/collapseReference: Commands in the E-mail message section

You can use the field in this section to add an explanatory text on the shipping method. Pay attention to how you write this text, because it will be added to the order confirmation e-mail that is sent to the customer.

Click to expand/collapse Reference: The commands in the Management section

With the options available in this section, which you will find in the Pro edition only, you can set up the shipping tracking so that your Customers can always be up-to-date about their order shipping status.

First of all, you need to activate the Shipping Management option. Then, you can choose between two possible options:

Shipping Tracking: in this way, the Customer is informed via order confirmation e-mail about the page they need to check out and possibly the specific tracking code they need to enter to  track their order shipping. In this case, you need to report:
Page URL of the shipping service provider: i.e. the URL of the Website which the Customers needs to visit in order to check out the shipping tracking for the products they purchased.

Many shipping services give the possibility of reporting the tracking code in the URL directly. You can do this by adding the placeholder [TRACKING_CODE] to the website URL: for instance, www.shippingservicewebsite.com/checktracking.php?code=[TRACKING_CODE]. This placeholder will automatically be substituted with the tracking code which will be reporting when processing the order. If you don't report any, the placeholder will be empty, but the link will keep working.

Automatic management via Qapla': by activating this option, all the necessary information is sent to Qapla', the all-in-one platform to manage your e-commerce shipments. To use this function, you need an active Qapla' account as well as:
Your Qapla' account API Key: it's the API key provided by Qapla', which you can use to connect WebSite X5 and Qapla'. To get the API Key, you have to log in to your Qapla' dashboard and access the Settings| Channel section: here, you can copy the Private API Key.

Qapla' is a SaaS platform that simplify the shipping management by providing services such as printing and creation of labels, shipment tracking, customization of e-mails and SMS on delivery. It offers a handy dashboard with which to monitor shipments made with any carrier (domestic or international) in real time and send notifications.
